Are carbohydrates bad?

Thank you for your email. I love carbs too! You have made one significant step forward by already trying the low carb approach, you know it's not for you. The same thing happened to me, no energy, constant cravings, sound familiar?

The high carbohydrate approach used to be the 'big thing' but is fading a little now. The best way to do this is to strike a balance. Moderate carbs, moderate protein, and don't worry about the fats. We get enough without worrying about it!

There are advantages and disadvantages to either approach, that is why it is better to diet smarter, not harder. Certain characteristics apply to each variable (carbs, proteins, and fats) and they must be studied in detail in order to make an informed decision. Luckily, I have done that for you. In summary, remember that any dieting approach where any macronutrient is significantly cut is not good for your health. We must also think about this, especially long term. Not only that but we want our weight loss results to be lasting. Anything that can't be maintained over the course of time (after the weight is gone) will result in failure.
